This Is Where You'll Find the Best Dressed Celebrities in NYC

As you know, New York City is a hotbed of celebrity activity, and they certainly have their share of favorite haunts, just as they do in Los Angeles. But if there's one place that draws more well-dressed A-listers than any other, it would have to be The Greenwich Hotel. Located in TriBeCa, the Robert de Niro–owned boutique hotel features the high-end finishes that celebs crave, impeccable service, a stylish restaurant, and an intimate feel, with just 100 rooms. 

We couldn't help but notice the über-stylish outfits that come and go from the country house–style hotel, worn by the likes of Beyoncé, Lily Aldridge, Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, Cara Delevingne, and Jennifer Lawrence, to name just a few. It appears that paparazzi are also in the know, as practically every other day a new celebrity is photographed in front of the hotel. Veteran street style star Taylor Tomasi Hill was a street style star before it was even really a thing. As an editor starting out in the early 2000s, Tomasi Hill has been a staple at fashion week ever since then, putting her sartorial skills to good use with one fresh, eclectic, achingly stylish look after another. In reference to the style of the women that she's catering to, she said, "I will say there’s a lot of athleisure, and it’s my goal to get rid of that. These women are so stylish and have dream closets, so I don’t understand why they automatically wear those tight leggings. If you want something easy, just put on jeans and a T-shirt.” There it is, straight from the present-day fashion icon herself—leggings are a no-go, in her opinion.

The Coolest Fashion Backpacks at Every Price Point

Growing up I was homeschooled (hold the jokes), and though I’m grateful for my unique academic experience, there are certain aspects of schooling that I missed out on altogether; namely the topic of today’s post: backpacks. Kendall Jenner's Personal T-Shirt Ripper Explains What's Going On

Don't get us wrong—we love a strategically ripped T-shirt, but we've noticed recently that Kendall Jenner has taken to wearing very ripped T-shirts, and we wanted answers. We knew for a fact that the two ripped tees in particular that she's worn recently were not pre-ripped styles (i.e. ones that could be purchased that way). It was almost as if a WWE wrestler got a hold of her graphic tee collection and went to town. Realizing that that probably wasn't the cause, we were glad to finally get an answer today, via PeopleStyle's chat with Jenner's stylist Monica Rose.

Rose answered all of our questions in saying, “The cutting of the shirts just recently started because whenever we’re in fittings and we’re in the moment, and I feel like something needs to be cut, I’ll literally take out my scissors and start cutting." She went on to say that it also stems from wanting to show off Jenner's cool bralettes (a wardrobe staple of hers), and that Jenner is doing some of the cutting herself but most of it is done in fittings. There you have it, folks! Monica Rose has started yet another trend, it seems. (Kylie Jenner also recently showed off a bra-exposing cut graphic tee on Instagram.)

Karen Walker's New Metal Sunglasses Are Out of This World

Karen Walker has been churning out covetable sunglasses for a while now, but the designer has truly outdone herself with her latest collection. Inspired by '30s photographer and visual artist Man Ray, the new metal sunnies are sleek, futuristic, and of course, insanely chic. 

So why did Walker turn to the experimental artist for inspiration? "Man Ray's solarized nudes and portraits have always been among my most loved of his works," Walker told Who What Wear. "The solarization's otherworldly effect, full of unnaturally brilliant whites and outlines so dark they look etched, is compelling and fascinating."

She went on to explain that one piece is especially inspiring to her. "But it's Man Ray's Solarised Portrait of Lee Miller, circa 1929, that I've always found myself least willing to draw my gaze away from. I love the contrasts within it of the real world and the solarized world." In our minds, there's nothing better than a good mix of art and fashion, which is why we're obsessed with Karen Walker's new sunnies.

Preview Uniqlo's First Collection Under Its Buzzy New Artistic Director

Back in June, Uniqlo appointed French designer Christophe Lemaire as its new artistic director. Now, we finally have the first look at his very first collection for Uniqlo—and it was definitely worth the wait. Available beginning on October 14, the line includes both men's and women's items. Standout pieces included an electric blue sweater dress, cool puffer jackets, and a textured crewneck sweater. The best part? The items are super affordable, with prices ranging from $15 to $180. 

Nabbing Lemaire was a major coup for Uniqlo—he previously held top design gigs at both Lacoste and Hermès. Plus, fashion girls may know him from his eponymous line, Lemaire, which actually did a popular collaboration with Uniqlo a while back. We're officially excited to see what else he has up his sleeve at his new job.

We've filled you in on the highly Instagrammable life of Anna Wintour's daughter Bee Shaffer, but as it turns out, there's another Wintour family member that just made a very public debut. 21-year-old Ellie Wintour, niece of the aforementioned Anna, is the September cover star of Tatler, a UK-based Condé Nast publication that regularly features the It-girls of British society. (A tongue-in-cheek headline on their site right now reads What to Wear on Your Private Jet.)

In her first major magazine editorial, the York University student (she's studying English literature) and her equally stylish friends modeled the high-fashion fall collections of Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Fendi. We found the British beauty on Instagram and according to her posts, the It-girl-in-the-making seems to have an eye for the artistic and a knack for photography. Ellie has attended fashion shows with her iconic aunt in the past, and we wouldn't be one bit surprised if Wintour is a role model of hers.

This Is the Latest Celeb to Wear Mansur Gavriel's Cult–Status Heels

Remember when designer Mansur Gavriel first took over all your fashion news feeds? At first, it was just their sleek leather bucket bags that were all anyone could talk about. Once they branched out into footwear it was game over—we wanted everything. True story: Getting your own Barbie is kind of a big deal, so we were quite intrigued to see that a major blogger announced on her Instagram over the weekend that she's now a Barbie, and perhaps the coolest one yet, in our opinion. The blogger receiving the huge honor? Why, Chiara Ferragni, naturally. The Italian It girl, who currently resides in Beverly Hills when she's not traveling the world, is the highest-earning, arguably most widely-known blogger, and 6.5 million Instagram followers proves that she's practically a household name.

Ferragni, who founded The Blonde Salad and her own namesake accessories line, gave a sneak peak of the doll on her Instagram account, and it couldn't be more stylish. She wears some of Ferragni's signature pieces, including a leather moto jacket, crop top, and ripped jeans. 

Being the fashion-loving gal that she is, it goes without saying that a real-life fashion blogger is a natural choice to add to Barbie's arsenal of stylish friends. And this isn't her first foray into the blogging world, as fashion blogger Barbie was released in 2014 and has her very own Instagram account, @barbiestyle for her #OOTD posts. For the record, she has an impressive 1.5 million followers.

We're starting to develop a theory that Kendall Jenner is on a mission to completely reimagine what it means to wear a t-shirt. Remember when we showed you that bra-exposing look she pulled off last week? Well, the supermodel is at it again, but this time the look is a little more achievable.

Awesome: The Majority of the 2017 Pirelli Calendar Stars Are Over Age 40

Everyone in fashion eagerly awaits the annual Pirelli calendar—and for good reason. The images are always shot by the best of the best, including Annie Leibovitz, who shot the calendar last year, and Peter Lindbergh, who took over as photographer for the 2017 edition. The 2016 lineup featured a wide range of famous faces like Amy Schumer, Serena Williams, Tavi Gevinson, and more. This year, the women are equally amazing, with an A-list group that spans some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Taking a quick glance at the full list, one thing stood out to us: More than half of the women are over 40. Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman, Helen Mirren, Robin Wright, Kate Winslet, and Charlotte Rampling were all selected to be in the iconic series, making a major statement against Hollywood’s age bias. Every L.A. Girl Will Be Wearing This Outfit Post-Labor Day
