The Bra "Rule" Every Working Girl Should Know

Dressing for the office doesn’t have to be difficult, especially if you’ve read our style guidelines every woman should follow and the 10 commandments of dressing for any workplace. Today, we’re adding another token of office attire advice to the list. During a recent brainstorm our Co-Founder, Hillary Kerr mentioned a simple yet highly useful tip that I thought was too good not to share.

“I’ve always felt that if an outfit requires a “stunt bra”—meaning: strapless, one shoulder, or whatever—it probably isn’t the best choice for the office. It’s a boring rule of thumb, but I think it’s important to err on the side of professionalism versus the ultimate expression of your personal style, at least when you’re at work,” she recommends. We’ve all been there, at some point in our career, trying on an outfit and second guessing if it’s right for the office or not. The next time you’re in that situation remember to play by Kerr’s rule to avoid any regrettable outfit decisions.

Do you have a style “rule” we should know about? Let us know in the comments at the end and in the meantime, shop the pieces that are always appropriate for the office below.

Your June Horoscope Is Here—Consider It Your Guide to Summer

Natalia Benson is a Los Angeles–based tarot and astrological expert, designer, creative, and DJ. True to her astrological assortment (Aries sun sign, Capricorn ascendant, Sagittarius moon), she finds inspiration from a number of creative outlets, including running her namesake jewelry company and deejaying under the name Ninth Child. Make sure to follow Benson on Instagram for monthly inspiration and astral insights; you can also book an astrology or tarot reading with her. Benson will be sharing her insights exclusively with Who What Wear readers every month.

We find ourselves with the sun in Gemini and the moon in Virgo for June 1. Gemini is a dynamic and social time—we may feel inclined to communicate and express ourselves more than usual or celebrate the vibe of summer by taking short trips out of town to recharge our batteries. I recommend some form of self-care during our transit in Gemini, as its effects can be somewhat disorienting. Time in nature spent with good friends is great.

Will This Be Summer's Most Instagrammed Swimsuit?

Aren’t two It brands better than one? If you don’t know the answer just yet, let us introduce you to the latest collaboration to land on our radar from a duo of Insta-famous, fashion-girl loved labels. Staud—the L.A. label we’re expecting bigs things from—and Solid & Striped—the simplistic, chic swim line that’s filled our social media feeds for the last few summers—have teamed for a collaboration that’s kind of a no-brainer.

Staud x Solid & Striped provides the best of both worlds with a generous lineup of not-too-fussy swimsuits in a range of silhouettes. There are lace-up details on bikinis and one-pieces alike, plenty of high-waist and off-the-shoulder styles, and a short-sleeved bikini top that’s landing on our "why haven't we tried this yet?" list for summer 2017.

Take a look below are some of our favorites from this twice as exciting—and Instagrammable—summer-ready collab.

Are These the New Rose-Gold It Shoes?

On a fashion girl–bait scale of 1 to 10, rose-gold shoes are an 11—and the reasons are countless. To name a few, they're less common than other metallics, they're flattering on any skin tone, they're versatile, and, well, they're pink. Thanks to all of that, when a new pair of rose-gold shoes blips on our radar, we pretty much stop what we're doing. Such was the case when we came across the newest must-have rose-gold shoes on Loeffler Randall's Instagram. The pair in question is part of a "rose-gold capsule" that's exclusive to the brand's site. The capsule styles are rather simple, featuring a knotted strap in the perfect shade of rose gold, available in both block-heel slides and flat slide sandals.

Loeffler Randall shoes are a Who What Wear editor favorite. Not only is every style the brand releases incredibly cool yet wearable, but some of the most comfortable shoes we own are from there as well. Given the number of It shoes that Loeffler has been responsible for in the past, we're confident in saying that these have strong potential to be the new rose-gold It shoes.

See and shop Loeffler Randall's exclusive rose-gold shoes below (and hurry—the likelihood of these selling out is high).

The 3 Affordable Shoe Departments Rivaling Zara Right Now

Zara's shoe department is perhaps the brand's most-loved section, as it has every major shoe trend covered. Even Bella Hadid is a fan, as last week she sidestepped her usual designer heels for a pair of $60 gingham platforms from Zara. But Z isn't the only high-street brand with an on-fire shoe department, as there are three other shoe offerings that are making us go all Carrie Bradshaw.

The Classic Piece Every Beach Outfit Needs

With Memorial Day Weekend behind us, summer is officially here (even if the calendar says otherwise for a few more weeks). Beach essentials include the perfect bikini or one-piece, It sunglasses, a straw basket, chic sandals that can go double duty off the sand, and, of course, a beach tunic. A colorful statement cover-up functions both as a cute layer from the sun or to step inside the beach club restaurant for a lunch or cocktail break, and to throw on at the end of the day for hitting the town. To satisfy the need, Tory Burch just debuted a set of S/S and Pre-Fall 2018 tunics that are the embodiment of laid-back, effortless, California-cool beach style. Unsurprisingly, they have the stamp of approval from L.A. It girl Annie McGinty and up-and-coming actress Zoey Deutch, who modeled for the campaign. Keep scrolling to see and shop the looks.

Proof That Gingham Is Summer's Easiest Trend to Pull Off

If there's one summer trend you've heard us talk about incessantly, it's gingham. The checked print has permeated the fashion landscape thanks to its playful nature and seasonally appropriate allure, and we love it in all forms—swimwear, tops, shoes, and dresses. So it's no surprise that Olivia Munn's recent getup has us smitten.

The actress's adorable gingham dress fuses the trend with yet another of-the-moment detail: an off-the-shoulder silhouette. To sweeten the deal even further, it turns out the piece is from ASOS, meaning it's affordable to boot. (Her exact dress is sold out, but there are plenty of similar styles ripe for the taking.) Styled with a glossy black sunglasses and strappy block-heel sandals, the simple look is cool yet unfussy—two things we love in an effortless summer outfit.

Kendall Jenner Wore Mom Jeans and a Fanny Pack—Thoughts?

Kendall Jenner basically reinvents herself on a daily basis as of late, sartorially speaking. One week she's wearing naked pants at the airport, the next she's wearing a Sandy from Grease look at Cannes, and the next (as in, today) she's wearing mom jeans on the sidewalks of NYC. And not just slim mom-inspired jeans. We're talking full-on high-waisted, baggy, tapered, and cropped mom jeans, similar to the ones your actual mom might've worn in the '80s. But the '80s-inspired fun doesn't stop there. Jenner chose a fanny pack (albeit a Chanel one), a tight white turtleneck adorned with sweet Little House on the Prairie flowers, and stark white shades and sneakers.

The beauty of Kendall Jenner's style is that she takes risks, keeps us guessing, and rocks whatever she's wearing with confidence. If she wore the same type of safe look every day, the world wouldn't follow her style as closely as we do. Her latest '80s mom look is just another example of how she keeps things fresh every day.

Check out Jenner's look below, and shop it for yourself (because it's officially cool now, right?).

Okay, Is This Not the Prettiest Legging Trend Ever?

Just when you thought it was impossible for yet another legging trend to pop into existence, the prettiest one ever makes its grand debut. The beloved activewear brand, Outdoor Voices, just released their new Rose Collection consisting of pink hues ranging from ballet pink to, of course, rose. With the rise of millennial pink and pink shades in general (see here, here, and here), this activewear collection feels more than appropriate.

Beyond just leggings that are rose-colored, Outdoor Voices also released a plethora of pale pink crop tops, sports bras, and T-shirts to ensure that you can have a head-to-toe rose athleisure look should your heart desire. For those of you who haven't been huge fans of the "controversial" nude or white legging trends we have been seeing pop up quite frequently this season, this pretty style might just be the one for you.

So, Kendall Jenner's Going to Be Wearing a Lot More of These Sneakers

If you’ve been paying attention, you probably already saw this Kendall Jenner news coming. Just last week, the model posted a #TBT of her as a child wearing a white Adidas T-shirt, and in totally related news, today Jenner’s officially announced her latest campaign with the athletic brand.

In her newest Instagram post, Jenner slides right into (literally) her new post as the ambassador with the iconic sportswear brand. “Officially joining the adidas fam!,” she captioned her Boomerang, while wearing a full tracksuit with that famous triple stripe logo.

This it not only the first time Jenner—who’s clearly a bit of a sneaker head—has partnered with an athletic line, it’s also a huge career moment. Gigi Hadid. Bella Hadid, and even her sister Kylie have already secured sponsorships from other sports brands—Reebok, Nike, and Puma, respectively—and now she can check off the box on her own career bucket list.

Take a look below at Jenner's announcement, and the throwback picture that foreshadowed it all.

Here's How to Tell How Soon a Zara Piece Will Sell Out

Pretty much every time I come across something I'd like to buy, the first question I ask myself is if I should wait for it to go on sale or if it's worth buying on the spot. While there are plenty of factors that lead to the ultimate decision (first and foremost, budget), there's a handy no-fail trick that I use almost every time prior to making a purchase, especially on Zara. So many people are shopping the site at any given time that a piece can be gone in the blink of an eye.

So here's my hack: I add the item in question in my size to my cart and press the + arrow until I receive an error message saying "No more units available". And then I know how many of the item are left in stock. If it's less than 10 and I'd regret it if the piece slipped away, I complete the order (but not the items from cart and re-adding just one!). If it's a large number, I know that I can probably wait a bit. For example, there are currently 36 of this adorable $36 straw bag available and just one of this adorable $36 straw bag

With this handy online shopping hack, I rarely miss out on something I really want because I decided to sleep on it. It's a no-fail method for gauging the urgency of a purchase on any site, especially the treasure trove that is Zara.

With that, read on to shop some of the current Zara pieces I don't want to get away!

Asking For a Friend: What Does One Wear With a $380,000 Handbag?

We know all about saving up for a major fashion splurge. Heck, there’s always seems to be some dream item that’s on our minds. But at a recent auction at Christie’s one shopper walked away with a $380,000 handbag, sufficiently  blowing all our piggy banks out of the water.

According to Bloomberg, the prize item sold today was a Hermès Birkin bag with a white crocodile-skin exterior. While that item alone might run you well over five figured, this particular style is especially luxurious because of its details of 18-karat gold and 10 carats of diamonds.

In case the style sounds familiar, this same design already sold at a previous auction last year for a little over $300,000. But due to the exclusivity of a Birkin bag and its steady appreciation in price, today's record-making bid saw a price increase of nearly $100,000. At this rate, a half a million dollar price tag isn't too far away.

Take a look at the style below, as well as a few more realistic handbag investments.

The Easiest Swimsuit Style to Wear, According to Lauren Conrad

These days, we turn to Lauren Conrad for her relaxed, romantic take on city style. But, let's not forget that growing up on the California coast means Conrad has a mastery of beachwear, too. So, it was only natural for Conrad to expand her popular LC Lauren Conrad line to swimwear just in time for summer. The new collection includes suits, cover-ups, and accessories, which Conrad describes as "beachy pieces and separates that can be worn together."

The new swimsuits are colorful and fun, with pops of color like hunter green and bold red, along with tropical palm prints. But, most importantly, the suits are designed to flatter. "Everybody has such a different preference when it comes to swim," Conrad says. "I think the more classic styles tend to be easier to wear." She adds, "I really like the [bikini bottom] we created. It's a cute little bikini, but it also has enough coverage so that people can feel comfortable."

And whether you have a beach vacation on the horizon or not, Conrad's handy bikini styling trick is not to be overlooked. "In this line, I really wanted to do mix and match like that you buy separately because I like mixing patterns and prints, and I feel like you get a lot more mileage out of your swimwear that way."

Excited to see Conrad's new beachwear collection? Check out a few of our favorite styles below.

In Case You Couldn't Tell From This Video, Candice Swanepoel Is Back

Victoria's Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel has been taking a break from modeling since she had her son, Anacã, in October. With the exception of a Gap campaign she did with Anacã himself, Candice chose to keep a lower modeling profile, but that all changed today.

Candice made a modeling comeback in her new campaign for Victoria's Secret. In a black-and-white video released this morning, Candice wears a white Victoria's Secret lace bodysuit and poses up against a mirror. Judging by the video, we think it's safe to say that Candice is back and better than ever.

Elle Fanning Packed How Many Suitcases for Cannes?

The Cannes Film Festival might have already wrapped up, but we're still reeling from the A-list fashion from the Cannes red carpet.

One standout fashion star at the event was Elle Fanning, who consistently wore stylish looks, and thanks to a Vogue interview with her stylist, Samantha McMillen, we now know how she pulled it off.

“You have to have options, you know,” Samantha said, referring to the whopping 23 suitcases she and Elle brought for her 10 days at Cannes. “Dress like you’re in the French Riviera—choose fun accessories, and always have a great pair of sunglasses.”

As Samantha said, having a pair of great sunglasses can help any look. Shop some of our favorite statement accessories below.

Emma Watson Wore the $65 Sneakers Kate Middleton Loves

Emma Watson and Kate Middleton are both British and have impeccable style, but they also have something else in common—one pair of shoes, to be exact. Watson just stepped out in New York City wearing Superga Cotu Classic Sneakers in White ($65), which you can also find in the Duchess of Cambridge's closet. Middleton has worn the exact same shoes twice recently: Once with a striped top and skinny jeans, and another time with an all-black outfit. Suki Waterhouse and Chiara Ferragni are also fans of the brand.

As for Watson's look, she teamed the classic kicks with a button-down blouse and cuffed white jeans, resulting in the ultimate easy-to-re-create summer look. Oh, and did we mention that the sneakers have amazing reviews on Amazon? Yep, they're pretty much a fail-safe choice for warm weather.

Alexa Chung's Clothing Line Is Here—and You'll Want Everything

The day has finally arrived: Alexa Chung's eponymous clothing line is here and finally shoppable. While we've been limited to cryptic quotes and mysterious Instagram photos for the months leading up to the debut, we've finally had a peek at the full lookbook, and it's safe to say that fans of Chung won't be disappointed.

From relaxed suiting to retro separates, down to shoes and accessories, it's easy to imagine Chung wearing every piece, which is no surprise since she was heavily involved in the design process. "My taste is my taste," she told the Wall Street Journal. "I just made things that I was missing or that interested me. I don't know how else to do it."

While Chung has found success in her collaborations with brands including AG Jeans, Marks & Spencer, and Madewell, this marks her first foray into a collection all her own. She told The Evening Standard, "the experience I have enjoyed in art directing, modeling, and designing for other brands bolstered my confidence and experience across some of the many areas it takes to form a fully-fledged brand."

Starting today, the collection is available at a number of online retailers including Net-a-Porter, Matches Fashion, and her own website AlexaChung.com.

Yes, This 49-Year-Old Actress Uses Fashion to Rebel

Nicole Kidman is a fashion pro. Her looks dominated the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this year, and she's never shied away from taking fashion risks. It isn't a surprise, then, that as she graces InStyle's July cover, fashion is the topic of choice in her interview.

"There are dreams attached to fashion. When it's presented in a way where you go [gasp], it just makes you feel good," Nicole said. "It allows me to express what I'm feeling, as in, I want to wear that because that's actually my rebellion right now. Or that's my way of fitting in. Or it's my way of saying no. Or it's my way of saying I'm different."

Nicole is right that fashion and self expression are at the core of why we dress. We think her comments are spot on.

InStyle's July issue goes on sale Friday, June 9, but before you pick up a copy or read more of the online interview, take a look at Nicole Kidman's cover below.

Have You Met Dakota Johnson's Sisters Yet?

It’s not every day that you get to take your sisters to work, but that’s the special position Dakota Johnson found herself in yesterday. The actress had two dates to the Gucci Cruise 2018 show that took place in Florence. Namely, her younger sisters Stella Banderas and Grace Johnson.

Sure, there are clearly some strong shared genetic traits between the three sisters, but each of them brought a little something different to the anticipated show, style-wise. The youngest sister, Grace, 17, with whom Dakota shared a father (Don Johnson), showed off her interpretation of the pajama-dressing trend with a silky, embroidered set and iconic Gucci loafers. Meanwhile, Stella, 20, whose mother is Melanie Griffith, like Dakota, opted for a multi-bow minidress and chunky flatfoot heels. Their eldest and most well-known sister wore an elegant floral look, with a deep V-neckline and oversize Gucci bow detail.

We’ll admit it: Fashion does have a thing for stylish siblings. And considering that this trio has thus far flown under the radar, we won’t expect too many shared red carpets together anytime soon. But we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for when it happens next.

Adriana Lima Just Debuted a Pretty Wedding Ring—but There's a Twist

Adriana Lima wants to throw out the rule book when it comes to wearing a diamond ring on that finger. Over the weekend, she was spotted at the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix wearing a wide-leg pantsuit and a striking diamond band on her left ring finger. And no, it wasn't by accident: The Victoria's Secret model took to Instagram to explain that the ring does indeed hold significance (but for a different reason than you might think).

"What's up with the ring?" she captioned the photo. "It's symbolic, I am committed to myself and my own happiness and I am married with me. Ladies love yourself. And yes I am single." That's advice we can definitely get behind—who couldn't use a sparkling just-for-me purchase every once in a while?

Have $16? You, Too, Can Buy Selena Gomez's Top

Some days it takes right-off-the-runway designs and custom creations to channel Selena Gomez’s exactly style. And other days, like today, it doesn’t even take a single Andrew Jackson. That’s because Selena Gomez’s latest ensemble features a deeply discounted item from one of our favorite retailers.

While hanging with Freddy Collins—that is, the Cavalier King Charles whose mother is Anna Collins, sister to photographer Petra—Gomez wore a simple, ruffle-neck Toyshop shirt that we’ve seen quite a bit of this year. And it's now nearly 50% off.

The style was spotted a few times earlier this year on Gigi Hadid, who wore it literally chopped in half. But Gomez, instead paired hers with what appears to be skinny jeans. Classic. While we can’t say that the singer’s closet is completely easy to replicate, at least we can all stock up on a Gomez-approved basic.

Take a look at Selena Gomez's $16 top below, and shop it for yourself.

Vogue Paris Says French Brides Have a New Favorite Accessory Trend

As we've mentioned before, French weddings are a bit different than they are in the U.S., as in that they're more of a casual affair, generally speaking. Not only that, but French brides love to have a unique, unconventional element to their look, whether it's in the form of an unexpected shoe or, in this case, an unexpected accessory.

Vogue Paris recently reported that there's a new accessory at the top of every French bride's wish list, which seems to be giving traditional veils a run for their money. The accessory in question is an extremely wide-brimmed straw hat by French designer Jacquemus. Vogue Paris says of the hat, "The straw hat from the [S/S 17] collection has become the focus of everyone’s desires, particularly soon-to-be brides who see it as the perfect bridal accessory."

We did a little digging, and the under-$200 Le Chapeau Santon, as it's called, is currently sold out everywhere, but Jacquemus is currently accepting preorders for delivery in late June. In the meantime, see the hat below (which was worn by every model on the brand's S/S 17 runway), and shop other straw hats that would be lovely for a casual, French-inspired wedding (or just, you know, summer weekends).

Gigi Hadid Wore the Boots You Never See In NYC

We know Gigi Hadid has a knack for nailing athleisure, but while she might box, run, and generally break a sweat in leggings and sneakers, that's not the case for her latest look. Gigi instead broke out skinny jeans and equestrian boots for what we can only guess is a trip to the stables. While we've seen Gigi sport her fair share of both ankle boots and over-the-knee styles before (she even designed her own with Stuart Weitzman—don't forget), equestrian boots are an unexpected choice for the streets of NYC.

Gigi wore her slimming jeans and sleek footwear with a simple white tee, sunglasses, and a NASA hat, an off-duty look that's relaxed but still feels put together. Gigi has never been afraid to test new and unexpected denim trends, but this time, her simple styling is just right. Feeling inspired by Hadid's unexpected combination? We have a few pairings to help you give the ensemble a spin, too. Check it all out below.

Lily-Rose Depp Is Wearing This Major Boot Trend 4 Months Early

Lily-Rose Depp just reached a major milestone. The It girl, model, and actress celebrated her 18th birthday over the weekend, and, naturally, we were curious to see what she'd wear for the momentous occasion, which she graciously shared with the world via Instagram. If you guessed she'd don a cowboy-chic ensemble, you would be correct. Depp chose a very on-trend combination of a ruffled corset, pink statement earrings, and raw-hem jeans. And to complete the look, she decided on one of fall's biggest boot trends (as evidenced by the F/W 17 runways): cowboy boots.

The classic style has been hinting at a return for several seasons now but never before as loudly as designers hinted at the trend for the fall season—Louis Vuitton, Céline, Stelle McCartney, Vetements, and Calvin Klein are just a few of the fashion houses on board with the trend. And it's not surprising that the directional Depp (and her fellow cowboy boot–clad friend) is one of the first to endorse the trend in 2017. Want to join her?

See Depp's cool lavender boots, and shop some of our favorite Western boots below. (We're pretty sure she won't be the only It girl wearing the trend come October.)

Pippa Middleton Wore the Prettiest Dress on Her Honeymoon

It's been just over a week since Pippa Middleton's much-anticipated wedding in England. So what has she been up to? As MyDomaine reported, Middleton and her new husband, James Matthews, are honeymooning in French Polynesia at a private hideaway called The Brando. Now, we finally have our first look at the cute couple's vacation, courtesy of Entertainment Tonight.

Spotted holding hands on the beach, Middleton wore Kate Spade New York Lantern Poplin Flounce Sundress ($398). Pippa's sister Kate is also a fan of the brand—last year, the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted in a Kate Spade New York dress that promptly sold out. Word to the wise: You better act quickly, because we have a feeling Pippa's gorgeous iteration will do the same.

Serena Williams Wore This It Zara Item on Her Babymoon

Turns out, Zara may be the brand of choice for celebrity moms-to-be. Lauren Conrad recently told us which Zara items work for her baby bump, and now we've spotted pregnant Serena Williams in a chic piece from the beloved retailer too.

The tennis champ is currently on a babymoon with fiancé Alexis Ohanian (and some gal pals) in the south of France. Thanks to a few Instagram photos, we know exactly what she's wearing on her romantic trip: Zara's Long Floral Print Komono ($150).

Not only is the kimono celeb-approved, but we'll fill you in on a little secret: Lots of our staffers have been swiping up Zara's top-notch selection of kimonos (including our co-founder Hillary Kerr and The Devils Wear Zara duo), so you should probably get on board too. Practical Fashion Girls Will Love These Sandal Brands

I don't know about you, but I have a habit of wreaking havoc on my favorite sandals each summer. Between New York City sidewalks, impromptu detours through sandy beaches and grassy lawns, and the occasional outdoor concert, I usually find myself apologizing to the cobbler when I hand them over in August for some necessary rehab.

I used to skirt around this problem by buying cheap sandals that I could just toss in the trash at the end of the season until realizing a) yikes, super wasteful and b) I tend to get attached to shoes I like, so parting with them was never fun, even if they were falling apart. Nowadays, I like to invest in pairs I know are well made so they can handle a bit more of the beating I put them through each year—and I gravitate toward simple, practical styles that will go with just about everything. (And if there's a flash-in-the-pan trend I can't live without, then I'll go to Zara.)

I'm also always on the lookout for new brands to source my everyday sandals—and in the interest of sharing the wealth, I've rounded up four emerging labels making classic yet crazy-covetable footwear.

The "Tricky" Top Fashion Girls Swear By

I’m literally obsessed with stripes—it’s such a classic and chic pattern. It also works so well for spring. For this outfit, I wore this Self-Portrait ruffle top. I absolutely love this top. Spring 2017 is all about ruffles, so this top is the perfect statement piece to add to your rotation. I paired the top with white Citizens of Humanity jeans. White jeans are a wardrobe staple for spring and summer. I particularly love these because of the quality of the denim (they are not see-through), the high-rise fit, and the distressed leg details.

I styled the look with these yellow BaubleBar earrings. I love how the yellow popped against the blue stripes. I’ve been really into earrings as of late and love these! I own them in red as well. They are so fun and affordable. I wore Gianvito Rossi natural sandals, which are still one of my favorite pair of shoes. I love how beautiful my new Chanel bag completed the look. Keep reading to see how I styled the outfit; then shop the pieces from my look.

I Thought I Hated This Trend, but 2017 Changed My Mind

Let's just call it like it is: I've always been a tomboy. Or, maybe I'd describe it as 80% tomboy. I lean toward athleisure, jeans, sneakers, and tees. And while I can't lie, I do love to dress up every once in a while (that's where the other 20% comes in), I have to say I've generally avoided dressing in anything too feminine like a pink, ruffly plague.

But, the last few years, as a certain ladylike style has crept back into fashion, I've found myself surprisingly smitten. There was a day when my mom wore kitten heels or cat-eye glasses, and I was quick to tease her, but these days, we dress more alike than differently.

Still, coming around to feminine dressing has been a slow, deliberate process. I love elegant lady-like pieces but don't feel like myself in anything too girly. So, for me, it's been about leaning into the trend on my terms, and learning how to pair something girly with the more relaxed pieces I already love. Below, I'm highlighting a few examples of how I've slowly tried to master the look. Check it out, and then shop the feminine pieces I want to wear.

The Surprising Outfit Every French Girl Has in Her Closet

Sure, it might not be news that French girls love striped boater tops and trench coats. They’ve got that easy, uncomplicated style down and know how to invest in cool basics. But there’s one thing we’ve been surprised to see them wearing. It’s hardly an essential but it seems that without fail, all the stylish French girls we love have an affinity for jumpsuits.

But when we break it down, it makes sense. The jumpsuit, like a dress, is pretty low-maintenance. Throw one on with a cool pair of espadrille wedges and a basket bag, and your look is done. This works into the French laissez-faire attitude that makes everything they wear look effortless but also endlessly stylish.

And when we look at the types of jumpsuits they’re choosing, they have a few things in common. First, they stick to neutral colors and understated prints. Anything in the family of black, navy, burgundy, or a subtle floral print makes the cut. Next, the fit is key. None of the styles they’re wearing are form-fitting. Instead, the jumpsuits tend to have straight legs, some sort of sleeve, and buttons down the front. And lastly, their styling choices are important. The trick is to keep it simple—a day-to-night bag and comfortable (but stylish) shoes are the only things needed to complete the look.

The Summer Outfit Every NYC Girl Is Wearing

While New Yorkers have plenty of talents—deftly navigating the subway, eating pizza without burning the roofs of their mouths—it's in fashion where the city's residents truly shine. That's because NYC girls can take a trend we've seen everywhere and, with a simple tweak or two, make it all their own. In part, that's because a certain amount of practicality is required in NYC (see subway note above), but it's also because there's just something special about style in this city.

So how are New York residents tackling one of summer's biggest trends? While we've seen hero tops just about everywhere, the same exaggerated sleeves and ruffle details get a different twist here. Styled with relaxed jeans, these potentially fussy tops actually feel cool and dare we say it—relaxed. Below, we're highlighting exactly how New York girls are wearing this trend now, along with tops to help you get the NYC look too. Just add your favorite jeans and you're good to go.

Olivia Palermo's Pants Have This Outfit-Making Detail

Olivia Palermo never fails to deliver an immaculately chic street style look. Always equally weighted with polish and a bit of fashion-girl edge, her recent ensemble for the Valentino Cruise 2018 show in NYC was a quintessential representation of her uptown-meets-downtown sensibility.

A brightly hued, patch-emblazoned bomber jacket added edge to a classic, striped long-sleeve, and the split-front hem of her cropped black trousers added subtle nuance to her well-considered look. Sturdy pointed-toe loafers anchored the sophisticated vibe, while whimsical hot pink sunglasses and a heavily embellished bag played up the fun factor. If there's one thing we can always count on from Olivia, it's endless sartorial inspiration.

Emmy Rossum Is Married! See Her Gorgeous Wedding Dress

Congratulations! Last night, Emmy Rossum married Mr.Robot creator, Sam Esmail in New York City. As Vogue highlighted, Emmy wore an embroidered, off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown with a beautiful train.  “As soon as I got engaged, I immediately knew that I wanted Mrs. Herrera to make my wedding dress,” Emmy told Vogue. "I knew I’d be getting married at the temple, which is quite grand, and that the reception would be at the Guggenheim, so we knew that it needed to be a dress that could hold up to that. And it was Mrs. Herrera’s idea to make it quite modern and fresh, and kind of use the shape of the Guggenheim on the bodice.” The result? A gorgeous dress anyone would swoon over. Emmy completed her look with Paul Andrew pumps and a Roger Vivier bag.

So, you've finally decided on your dream wedding dress. Now comes the next question you have to answer: What shoes should you wear with it? If you're stumped, London-based designer Emilia Wickstead has an idea. Promoting the launch of her brand-new wedding dress collection, Wickstead chatted with Vogue UK about all things bridal.

When discussing the elements you need to bring together your wedding look, Wickstead mentioned her favorite shoes for the big day. "Add a beautiful closed toe shoe, either with a pop of colour or in the same shade of ivory as the dress," she told the magazine. "Personally, I love a pointed toe with a thin ankle strap."
