A few Sundays ago, I was perusing the racks at my local Goodwill. It might sound like an unlikely place to go for fashion finds, but I’ve had spontaneous luck over the years and have found a certain talent in sifting through an overwhelming assortment of tired sweaters and graphic tees to find a gem. On this particular trip, I wasn’t looking for anything in particular. But right as I was about to admit defeat and go home empty-handed, I turned around and instantly spotted a piece of tiered black satin with a delicate feather-trimmed hem and I knew it needed to be mine instantly. The fact that it was technically a skirt and size XS didn’t discourage me, though.
Had I not just seen this amazing Kendall Jenner outfit just days prior, I might not have even given the skirt a second glance. KJ aside, the feather trend has been quietly gaining ground on its own. While plastic and PVC are having their moments right now, it’s only a matter of time until this textural trend becomes just as big. Let’s face it—feather-trimmed anything is fun and whimsical and it just makes us really happy for no apparent reason.
Do you ever have those moments where you put something on that you’re personally really excited about but you’re not sure others will share your passion for it? That’s precisely how I felt the morning I decided to wear my cute little feather skirt as a top to the Who What Wear offices. Sure enough, though, my co-workers were all over the top, asking where I found it and which brand it was from. You can imagine how proud I felt declaring that it wasn’t store-bought in the traditional sense and that I grabbed for less than $5 and lightly tailored into a cropped top. And by “lightly tailored”, I mean that I simply cut off a few extra layers of the original material that went past the first layer of feathers so that it consisted of just one panel of the plain black material and one layer of the feathers to embellish the bottom hem.
Being a rather short crop top, I simply layered it over a plain white T-shirt to make it more office-friendly and dressed it down with my favorite pair of vintage Levi’s. Once the weather warms up, though, I’m excited to wear it as a going-out top with strappy sandals and something high-waisted.
Word to the wise: Feathery pieces look extra good with strappy heels. See our complete guide to the spring shoe trend right here.
We’re all very familiar with asking “who are you wearing?” and where did you get that?" when it comes to matters of beautiful fashion. But this week UK-based non-profit Fashion Revolution is urging style lovers—make that, anyone who wears clothing—to beg the question “who made my clothes?”
Having kicked off this past Monday, the collaborative organization of designers, consumers, policy makers and more have dubbed the week Fashion Revolution Week. According to them, it’s a massive push to bring transparency to exactly how our clothing is made and at what cost. This comes as especially timely as April 24 also marked the five year anniversary since the Rana Plaza tragedy which claimed the lives of over a thousand garment workers who were operating within inhumane conditions.
Of course, it's not uncommon to feel far removed from how, and exactly who, is responsible for the things we wear on our backs. But it doesn't have to be—and really shouldn't—thanks to this initiate. According to Fashion Revolution's site, its urging consumers to reach out to the brands and designers they love directly. "When you demand, they listen," the site reads. Visit the site to let your voice be heard today, and watch the video made in honor of Fashion Revolution Week below for further inspiration.

In case you don’t already observe National Lingerie Day (it’s today), here’s a reason to reconsider: Rihanna has used the occasion to officially share the first crystal-clear image of her lingerie collection, Savage x Fenty. “Errrday #NationalLingeRIHday!,” the brand’s Instagram stated.
Rihanna’s post shows the singer in a lacy pink bodysuit that’s low-cut, features cutouts, and doesn’t slack on any of the showstopping appeal that you’d expect from the fashion risk–taker behind it. We suspect that rest of the collection is designed in a similar realm.
Furthermore, as the singer confirmed her collection would be on the way (after a bit of speculation) just last week, today she also shared the date to hold on our calendars. “Got a lil treat for my ladies.... #SAVAGEXFENTY is coming to you worldwide on MAY 11th,” she posted. Take a look at the debut style below, and stay tuned as more of the “lingeRIH” is released.

As someone with moderate metal allergies, I can attest to the difficulties of curating a perfect jewelry collection. Those trendy, inexpensive pieces tend to leave me itchy and flaunting a not-so-cute rash. And as a result, my jewelry collection is much more limited due to the absolute necessity for quality pieces. There’s no such thing as an impulse purchase as every new addition is carefully weighed by the item’s worth and how much I’ll realistically be able to wear it—which isn't always easy considering how tempting it is to buy everything in sight.
Sound familiar? I know I can't be the only one facing this problem. To shed some light on the matter, we consulted our friends at Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Catbird to help break down what metals you should steer clear of if you have sensitivities, and what to wear instead. In other words, you can shop with confidence that your pretty new ring won't leave you itching for something else. Keep reading for our complete guide to hypoallergenic jewelry.

Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart are serving up some major vacation inspiration right now. The newly minted couple (and Riverdale co-stars) have been Instagramming up a storm from luxury resort Cuixmala in Mexico, and the FOMO is very real. Sprouse, who dabbles in photography when he's not acting, took dreamy photos of Reinhart wearing a breezy white dress on their getaway.
However, unlike your average vacation content, Sprouse has an entire Vogue photo shoot to go along with it—casual, right? Peter Lindbergh shot Sprouse and models Saffon Vadher and Mayowa Nicholas at Cuixmala, and the online story just debuted today. Sprouse and Reinhart have been posting about their trip on Instagram Stories, so Sprouse's Vogue shoot could have been photographed on a different trip—perhaps Sprouse loved the shoot so much that he took Reinhart back to the same resort getaway this week? Inquiring minds want to know, Cole.

Happy birthday, Victoria Beckham! The designer (and former Posh Spice, of course) turns 44 today, and naturally her husband of 19 years had to commemorate the occasion. David shared a black-and-white image of Victoria with their four kids on Instagram, captioning the photo: "Happy birthday to this young lady... Amazing mummy." For her birthday celebration, Victoria was the epitmoe of laid-back chic in wide-legged trousers and an oversize shirt—but would you expect anything less?
Victoria also had a sweet response to David's birthday tribute, posting a stylish husband-and-wife photo. "Love u so so much @davidbeckham x Thank u for making my birthday so special x The perfect day!! All 6 of us together x kisses x" she captioned the 'gram. As if we didn't already know, this confirms that the Beckhams may be the cutest family in Hollywood. Scroll down to see the new posts.
As you already know, fashion still girls can't get enough of bell-sleeve tops, and we're happy to report that the trend is perhaps even more flattering than that other enduring shirt trend: off-the-shoulder tops (still popular, like it or not). What makes dramatic bell-sleeve tops so flattering is the voluminous fabric at the wrists, which balances out the arms and makes them look slimmer in comparison. Not only that, but they instantly make any outfit feel fresh, interesting, and almost ethereal.
Brands and retailers have been fully committed to endorsing the trend for the past couple of years. The bell-sleeve look, which was once reserved for flowy Bohemian tops and dresses, now feels much more sophisticated, and wide bell sleeves can even be found adorning structured tops. And unlike off-the-shoulder tops, you can even wear bell-sleeve tops to the office and other conservative affairs, as well as for a night out. So basically, you can wear them just about anywhere (although we'd advise against wearing them to an Italian restaurant for obvious reasons).
Read on to shop some of our favorite bell-sleeve tops on the market right now.
When it comes to Janelle Monáe's new music video for "Pynk," the catchy tune will draw you in, but the over-the-top visuals will make you stay. "Pynk is a brash celebration of creation," the video description states. "Self love. Sexuality. And pussy power! Pynk is the color that unites us all, for pink is the color found in the deepest and darkest nooks and crannies of humans everywhere...Pynk is where the future is born..."
Lest you think the result wouldn't live up to that lofty depiction, feast your eyes on one of the coolest music videos of 2018 so far. Scroll down to watch the video in full, which already has the entire internet talking.

Amal Clooney just landed her first Vogue cover, and in short, it's simply stunning (and it was well worth the wait).
The fashion publication took to Instagram early this morning to unveil the front of the glossy (shot by none other than Annie Leibovitz), on which Clooney, subtly smiling with wind-blown hair, is dressed in Alexander McQueen. Sheer perfection, if you ask us.
For the cover story, Clooney invited writer Nathan Heller into her home—hence the headline, "Inside the World of Amal Clooney,"—where she opened up about balancing her work (as a barrister in international human rights law) and fashion, motherhood, and her relationship with George Clooney.
But it wasn't only Clooney that Heller spoke to for the feature. He also interviewed several members of her family, as well as her husband, George, who shared the sweetest details about how he felt the moment he first met her.
“Of course she was beautiful,” George told the publication. “But I also thought she was fascinating, and I thought she was brilliant. Her life was incredibly exciting—the clients she was taking on and the superhuman work that she was doing. I was taken with her from the moment I saw her.”
After that first encounter, the two stayed in touch via email. As Heller writes about the couple's relationship from early on, "They became friends; they stayed in touch. Amal is a big emailer, and George responded with a clownish gambit, writing her repeated notes in the voice of his dog Einstein, who claimed to be trapped in various places and in need of legal rescue." But really, how precious is that? Now, read on to see Amal's first Vogue cover, and then head to the magazine's website for the complete interview.

Who is Rebekka Harajuku? That's the question that followers of Bella Hadid's Instagram found themselves asking over the weekend when the model posted a photo of herself in a blonde wig with a caption referring to what we now know to be her alter ego. Over the past few days, an entire Instagram page has popped up featuring the temporarily blonde Hadid touring her way around Tokyo (where the moniker Harajuku comes from—it's a neighborhood in the city).
Hadid's new finsta includes shots of the model shopping, dining, and posing, all while dressed in Dior, Chanel, and of course, those tiny sunglasses that are everywhere these days. Oftentimes, a "finsta" is an alternate account where social media buffs are able to share private photos with friends and offer an unpolished alternative to their perfect "rinsta" feed. For Hadid, the alternate account is cheeky, sure, but it's still chock-full of stylish outfit inspiration. Read on for a look at her alter ego and what I learned in a finsta spiral.
Saturday Night Live knows what you're really up to when you wear leggings. In a hilarious parody commercial on this weekend's episode, Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant make fun of leggings that are advertised for athletes. "Introducing Nike Pro-Chiller Leggings, designed for endurance but used for what most women actually do in leggings: setting up shop on their couch," the narrator says.
Kate McKinnon, in a baggy t-shirt and messy bun, calls it like it is: "Let's get real, leggings can be pants, pajamas, and a napkin." Other than being perfect for couch-lounging, SNL's leggings are spill-resistant and heat-proof. "Because I bring the heat: leggings, blanket, laptop," Bryant says. Scroll down to see the video in full—we dare you not to laugh.

It's no easy feat capturing the perfect family photo—just ask Kim Kardashian West. She took to Instagram to post the West's first full family photo of 2018, and upon first glance, it appears to be, well, flawless.
Kardashian West, who looks gorgeous in a tight-fitting midi dress is holding a sleeping Chicago West. Kayne looks utterly cool in a white button-up and just so happens to be matching with 2-year-old Saint West. And North (who is the only one smiling in the photo) looks so adorable as she holds up the peace sign.
But despite how picture-perfect the photo appears, the process of capturing the family of five together in a single snap was not as simple as it may look. "I don’t think you really understand how hard it is to take a good family pic. This was all we got before all three kids started crying. I think I cried too," she captioned the photo. But wait, there's more.
In a follow-up tweet, she revealed a bit more about what was so hard about the photo. "One hand holding the baby and the other hand grabbing the back of Saints shirt because he kept running away lol," she wrote. And if you look closely enough, you'll see North is actually standing on her mom's foot, as well.
But regardless of all the hard work behind-the-scenes, the final product is an adorable (and very relatable) family snapshot. Now, read on to see the full photo and Kardashian West's hilarious tweet below.

Yep, today would have been Heath Ledger's 39th birthday. If you're anything like us, you've never really gotten over the death of the iconic Australian screen star, even 10 years later. Naomi Watts, for one, definitely knows the feeling. She dated Ledger from 2002 to 2004 and today took the opportunity to share a sweet tribute to in honor of his birthday.
"Happy birthday to this darling heart. We will never forget you," she captioned her post, which featured a picture of her and Ledger holding hands on the red carpet at the 2004 SAG Awards in Los Angeles. Read on to see the photo for yourself.

There are countless elements to consider when snapping a photograph, including the angle, depth, and location, to name a few. But as Helena Christensen, supermodel, '90s icon, and skilled photographer noted in a recent Harper's Bazaar UK interview, there's really only one key to capturing the perfect image.
"Lighting is the most important factor for an interesting photo," she shared with the publication. "And there doesn't necessarily have to be a lot of light. I mostly find a lack of light to be what makes a portrait stand out, as it captures the spirit of the subject more intimately."
She also offered up some tips for finding this perfect light. "If you have time, move around with the camera pointed at you to find unique light … Just grabbing your phone and taking a random shot in a car at night with streetlight and other car lights flashing behind you can be really cool," she noted.
Of course, we immediately went to Christensen's Instagram to see her photo skills in action, and as expected, her feed was filled with stunning portraits, perfect selfies, and artfully crafted still lives that all have one thing in common: perfect lighting. Now, scroll down to see some of our favorite snaps from the supermodel.

Raise your hand if you've missed Adele. Yep, that's just about everyone. The singer has been lying very low recently—she's skipped out on red carpets and hasn't posted on Instagram since January. But here's the good news: She made her mini Insta comeback in epic fashion. Adele posted a photo of what she wore to officiate a wedding, and she looks downright angelic.
"Seeing as the cat's out the bag," Adele captioned her photo, "I married two of my best friends in January. You know me any excuse to dress up..." She wore a dramatic caped dress for the occasion, and we'd expect nothing less from her. Read on to see her look.
North West is just your average 4-year-old—unless, of course, you consider her famous parents and the fact that she got her very own fashion photo shoot. Kim Kardashian West just posted the sweetest image of her daughter's shoot with W magazine regular Steven Klein, and it was too precious not to share.
Clad in an adorable LBD with white gloves, the tot holds onto two dogs—and their black-and-white coats perfectly coordinate with West's look, naturally. How cute is she? Here's hoping she'll get her own dedicated Instagram account sooner rather than later. Read on to see the new photo.
