It's undeniably clear where Zara stands on the polarizing leggings as pants issue. The retailer has been swapping out pants for stretchy pants (very stylish stretchy pants, that is), for several seasons now, and fall 2016 is no exception.
The brand has been an early supporter (as in supporting our need to have it) of the velvet trend that's dominating this fall, and naturally, they've opted to combine the leggings and velvet trends into one fancy pair of leggings that we can already see Gigi Hadid wearing with her latest pair of cool sneakers. Speaking of sneakers, the beauty of Zara's steel gray velvet leggings is that you can dress them down, as we imagine Hadid would, or up with a pair of heels or ankle boots.
We suggest pairing the forward leggings with a tunic or oversized sweater when the weather cools down. If you can't wait, an oversized white menswear-style button-down and a pair of mules will do the trick. Once the world gets wind of these $23 leggings, we predict that we'll be seeing them EVERYWHERE. Get ready (and get yourself a pair, below, while you can).
