Whether you’re seeing it in person or through the window of Instagram, part of New York’s most unique charm is its street art. And perhaps no one appreciates a pretty side walk as much as a street style star. So it should come as no surprise that a few of the coolest examples we’ve spotted on social media are the work of a fashion insider.
As a part of the 100 Gates Project, NY-based designer Tanya Taylor’s work is now front and center on three storefront gates on the Lower East Side. Instead of adorning clothing, her hand-drawn designs are part of an initiative to bring color and light to the downtown neighborhood.
While we do consider this a must-see for anyone visiting the Big Apple over the holiday season and looking for a unique Instagram opportunity, the 100 Gates Project goes beyond just likes. It's part of a larger initiative to support female artists.
Scroll down for just a few of the best shots of Taylor’s print-emblazoned walls—street style stars included—and visit the hashtag to help map out your own our trip.
