Just take your most classic silhouettes to wear together, plus make sure there are a few interesting details throughout, and you've got yourself a subtly smart outfit in a snap. If you need a little more inspiration, look to Emma Roberts, who is a pro at this style of dress. This week, she took what could have been an average t-shirt and jeans look and turned it into something special. She opted for a simple cream longsleeve tee on top, but on bottom wore one of our favorite denim trends of the year with Mother's crop step fray jeans. Those asymmetric hemlines just scream cool-girl vibes. To top off the ensemble, Roberts wore a pair of embroidered mules from Alberta Ferretti. This may be minimalism at its best, but it's definitely not boring.
