When supermodels are strutting down high-fashion catwalks, it can be hard to remember that they had to start somewhere. For some, that meant playing in heels as kids, but supermodel Karlie Kloss took a less conventional route.
"Honestly, I never owned a pair of heels until I became a model," she said in an interview with InStyle. "I remember buying a pair of black high heels from Target in St. Louis because I had to practice learning how to walk in them."
Kloss has come a long way since then. She's on the cover of this month's InStyle, and uses the opportunity to talk about her rise as a model (she wasn't born with her signature "Kloss walk.") Her cover shoot features robots, burning cars, and couture gowns, so needless to say, it's a must-see.
