Perhaps no other current shoe trend represents summer better than pool slides. But who would've thought that even the highest-end designer brands (i.e. Valentino, Chanel, and Gucci, and Givenchy) would embrace them as wholeheartedly as they have? (There are also a slew of options to choose from if your pool slide budget is closer to $30 than $300.)
Likely thanks to the fact that they're a) comfortable and b) in perfect keeping with the athleisure craze, it looks like pool slides are one of the current trends you can bet will still be around in 2018. Net-a-Porter's senior footwear buyer Thalia Tserevegou just told Footwear News that "[A] safe investment for this season is the pool slide. While we may have thought they were a one-hit wonder, cruise ’18 footwear collections are proving they are here to stay." So even though retailers are already pushing fall boots, if you see a pair of pool slides that you love, don't feel guilty about adding them to cart.
