We don’t really have to explain why naked clothing can be so polarizing. The term itself is quite the oxymoron, yet it’s also quite a popular trend. But without going the sparkle-covered-Rihanna, Elsa-Hosk-casual-skirt, or Cara-Delevingne-futuristic-and-coin-covered route, Mandy Moore did the controversial look in a way that might even get a thumbs up from the most bashful dressers.
The This Is Us star opted for a Valentino lace dress in the brand’s classic—and currently on-trend—shade of red. However, the entire base layer of the design nearly matched Moore’s complexion to a T, allowing the open weave to give a naked look without the, well, nudity. The dress itself even featured a high neckline, long sleeves, and an elegant maxi-length skirt that lent itself to a more modest appearance. Moore topped off her "naked" look with a pair of skin-tone pumps, a statement clutch, and turquoise earrings.
