Jennifer Lawrence's Vogue Cover Is Also an Abercrombie & Fitch Reunion

A few months ago, rumors started circulating that Vogue had chosen Jennifer Lawrence as its September cover star. And early this morning, the much-anticipated (125th anniversary!) September issue was revealed with, none other than, Lawrence gracing the glossy pages. For this momentous occasion, an equally momentous cover was required, which is why the magazine enlisted three photographers and one artist, John Currin, to depict their unique visions of the star.

Annie Leibovitz and Inez and Vinoodh were two of the photographers who captured Lawrence, but we couldn’t help but make a connection to her modeling past with the third person behind the lens, Bruce Weber. Before Lawrence became the world’s highest-paid actress, she was an Abercrombie & Fitch model. Those iconic black and white Abercrombie & Fitch images of a young Lawrence wearing a white tank top and wind-blown hair were taken by, you guessed it, Weber, as well.

Now, 12 years later, Weber and Lawrence reunited for a stunning black and white Vogue cover on which she dons a crisp white button-up and wavy hair. It’s slightly reminiscent of her younger modeling days, but it’s undeniable just how much Lawrence has grown.
