It’s safe to say that Karl Lagerfeld has a thing with It girls. The kaiser always love to work with whatever personality is the most buzzed about, most sought after, be it Cara Delevingne, Willow Smith, or Lily-Rose Depp. Undoubtedly, this past year Bella Hadid was added that list.
So it shouldn't come as a big surprise that the younger of the Hadid sisters has landed her first solo campaign with Fendi. Photographed by creative director Lagerfeld himself, the campaign was teased out on Hadid’s personal Instagram account (where else?) where she wrote “@fendi s/s 17 campaign shot by the one and only @karllagerfeld ! what a dream come true to start off the new year!”
For those keeping track, Hadid follows in the footsteps of her friend and fellow It girl Kendall Jenner, who’s previously been fronting Fendi’s ads since 2015. Consider this a passing of the torch, a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants kind of rotation. Except instead of jeans, these are gorgeous, elaborate Fendi designs and the chance to work with one of the most influential figures in the industry.
