Meet The Lingerie Line That Celebrates Women of Every Shape

Between the first plus-size model appearing in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue and Vogue’s plus-size lingerie editorial, it’s been a progressive last few months for the representation of all body sizes image in media. Obviously we have a long way to go, which is why we feel it’s important to cover news and brands that have joined the conversation in a positive way. One such company? Lonely Hearts. The Australian-based lingerie line headed up by fashion director Helen Morris and former Stella McCartney designer, Ella Sarjant, has an incredible photography series called The Lonely Girl Project. The images shot by Zara Makkin depict the real women that inspire them in their many shapes and forms, from willowy to athletic to beautifully busty. They’re all shot in the subjects’ homes surrounded by the items that define them most—vintage posters, old vinyls, and their belongings—which lends a raw and authentic feel to the project.
