Following in the footsteps of funny men like Seth Meyers, Andy Cohen and John Waters, the new host of The Late Late Show on CBS, James Corden, has been confirmed to host this year’s CFDA Awards. While the British comedian’s career has certainly been picking up steam on this side of the pond, he’s a much less established name than his predecessors, making it a bolder choice for the CFDA. Corden recently starred in Into the Woods , alongside Meryl Streep, and Begin Again with Keira Knightley, and has previously won a Tony Award for his 2012 role in the play One Man, Two Guvnors. That seems like good enough reason to assume he can work a stage, but we’ll have to wait until the awards on June 1st to find out!
