What's the first thing you want to do when the weather starts to get warm? If you're anything like us, you can't wait to ditch socks and boots for some pretty sandals (and a coordinating pedicure). That said, the options out there can be overwhelming. To help steer you in the right direction when it comes to your new-season shoe purchases, we tapped Teva's head of product design, Hy Rosario, who broke down spring's biggest sandal trends for us.
First up: platform sandals. "This trend continues this season," Rosario told Who What Wear. "They are stylish, comfortable, and have a lot of personality—perfect for making a fashion statement." Are they on your shopping list yet?
It's also time to bust out the shoes you wore in college, because sport slides are here to stay. "We’re seeing this trend everywhere with variations in materials, patterns and colors," Rosario told us. "They are easy on and off, appropriate for the athleisure lifestyle and are totally nostalgic. What’s not to love?"
Another sandal trend you should know, according to Rosario: Strappy performance sandals with unique twists. "High-end fashion brands are tapping into this market drawing inspiration from the Teva Original Universal silhouette," Rosario told us. "They’re creating really fun, colorful sandals using sporty materials like neoprenes, Velcro, webbing, and rubber." And just like that, our spring shoe closets are officially settled.
