These Are the New Ballerina-Inspired It Shoes

Two things practically every fashion girl cares about: ballerinas and shoes. Combine the two and you're pretty much guaranteed a sell-out. Such is exactly the case with cool shoe brand FEIT's  new collection. Each of the brand's minimalist creations is built by hand using natural materials and is produced in limited quantities. Their latest release is the Handsewn Ballet Capsule, a collection of two suede and two leather flats inspired by classical ballet shoes. The feature a flattering U-shaped design and a slim sole, which "allows the wearer to be closer to the ground".

To prove just how ballerina-approved they are, the brand enlisted Benjamin Millepied, formerly of the New York City Ballet and Paris Opera Ballet (and Natalie Portman's husband), to shoot former principal dancer for the New York City Ballet Janie Taylor actually dancing in the shoes. The beautiful film was clearly enough to convince shoppers to invest in the ballerina-inspired flats, as they're nearly sold out in a few of the shades. And you can count Millepied among the fans of the new collection. He said in a statement that the shoes "are alive, they change with time, mold to your foot, adapt to your step".
