We love a variety of trouser silhouettes—slim, baggy, cropped, high-waisted—we could go on and on. However one we've relegated to the back of our closet for the last several seasons is the paper bag waist style, if not only because a slew of new trends (and forever classics) have held us over in the meantime. Leave it to Gigi Hadid to reinvigorate our interest in the style—the supermodel stepped out in an ice blue Resort 2018 look from Sally LaPointe that left us inspired.
True, Gigi looks great in everything she puts on, but the play on proportion here leaves a little something for us all to reinterpret for our own wardrobes. A drapey top tucked just so into the high-waist pants oozes fashion-girl ease, and the elongated silhouette enhances a legs-for-days effect. For anyone trying to feign a few extra inches, try a similar pair teamed with a tonal top and heels for a Gigi-esque effect.
