If you're reading this, you probably look forward to Oscars night as much as we do. Sure, celebrating the best films and performances of the year is the main event, but isn't it just as much about the Oscars fashion trends? We think so. Which is why, in anticipation of Sunday's big show, we're doing a little runway-backed trend forecasting.
The Oscars couldn't come at a better time during the year. We're fresh off of Paris Couture Fashion Week and in the middle of F/W fashion month, award season is wrapping up, and everyone is starting their spring shopping. So in other words, we have a lot to work with when it comes to trend predictions. And with It girls like Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, and Ruth Negga among the nominees, it's sure to be a very stylish red carpet. We combed through the ready-to-wear S/S 17, couture S/S 17, and NYFW F/W 17 runways in an effort to point out the trends that we think will be huge at this year's Oscars. Based on what we've seen so far on the red carpet this season and what designers are endorsing for spring, we feel pretty confident about our predictions. So without further ado...
