Surprise: Kate Middleton Wore a Second Wedding Dress You Never Saw

The duchess of Cambridge's wedding was one of the most televised nuptials of our generation, with nearly half the world watching and tweeting about the event. It certainly solidified Kate Middleton's status as the style icon that she has become. She emerged in a one-of-a-kind creation designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen with V-neck, delicate lace bodice and impossibly long train. We could go on and on about the iconic gown, but we're sure you've seen it everywhere.

One Kate Middleton wedding moment you haven't seen yet? Her second wedding dress. "Not as many people know that the Duchess actually had a second gown for the big day—and yes, it's as beautiful as the one she wore for the ceremony," notes Marie Claire. Yes, that's right, she wore another dress, also by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen for a more intimate celebration. We're surprised by the news, as we keep our eye on everything Kate Middleton. But, as the subsequent event wasn't publicly televised, we had no clue about this second (equally-stunning) gown. More subdued that the first, this ivory satin dress featured a sweetheart neckline and diamante-belted waistline, which she coupled with a romantic angora cropped sweater. Will this second wedding dress become as instantaneously iconic as the first?

Scroll down to see the equally-stunning gown Kate Middleton wore to a non-public wedding celebration.
