What does everyone look forward to seeing during Paris Fashion Week? All the coolest and most prestigious French labels, of course. But this season, there's a new twist: Swedish fashion is invading the week and giving your favorite Parisian brand a run for its money. The Association of Swedish Fashion Brands is kicking off its Swedish Fashion Now: Paris Edition initiative, where a handful of brands will be showcasing new collections during PFW.
One of the brands to keep your eye on specifically? House of Dagmar. When we asked the brand's co-founders—sisters Karin Söderlind, Sofia Wallenstam, and Kristina Tjäder—about what they want people in Paris to know about Swedish fashion, they clarified a misconception: "The fashion scene in Sweden has become a lot more diverse," the told Who What Wear. "Swedish fashion is usually known to be minimalistic with clean silhouettes, but lately through a lot of young designers popping up as well as more established brands, they are becoming a bit more daring and testing new limits."
The brand, which specializes in "sustainable and progressive collections with an emphasis on knits," will be showcasing its S/S 18 collection during Swedish Fashion Now, which takes place from Wednesday, September 27 to Sunday, October 10. Learn all the need-to-know info at the initiative's website.
