It shouldn't come as a surprise that, when she isn't dressed to the nines for a red carpet appearance, Julianne Hough lives in activewear. The actress and dancer is a poster girl for living an active lifestyle and even has her very own athleisure linewith MPG Sport. "We all know activewear is like athleisure now—it's the cute thing to do," she said when we caught up with her at a party presented by Sephora celebrating the September issue of Harper by Harper's Bazaar—where Hough was supporting her BFF (and guest editor) Nina Dobrev. "I feel like I've been doing that since I was nine," Hough admitted, recalling how she's in her workout or dance clothes all the time. "I feel lucky that it’s appropriate to do that now."
As the appropriateness of leggings is a hot topic, we decided to have Hough weigh in on the debate, asking her when she'd wear leggings for a non-workout situation. "For everything," she replied without hesitation. "Leggings are literally my go-to." She went on to confess how she's constantly wearing leggings—and athleisure in general—for errands and even meetings. We asked if there's ever a line she wouldn't cross with sporting leggings. "I feel like you can make it work with anything. Especially if they’re simple, plain black leggings," she explained. "As long as they fit good and you feel good in them, you can dress them up for sure."
