The '90s are no joke. The decade steeped in nostalgia has been a relentless influence for the past few seasons, proving that it has some serious staying power. The teeny tiny slip dresses and dark-hued grunge tones that once captivated the fashion crowd were replaced this NYFW by a brighter palette of fresh-out-of-the-crayon-box shades of blue, green and purple.
On the Tibi Spring/Summer 2018 runway, the designer favored the plastic tones in see-through iterations of waist belts wide and skinny. Never one to concede her clean and contemporary brand aesthetic to fleeting trends, Tibi's Amy Smilovic presented clean, pared-down looks with suiting aa a major theme. The innovation for Tibi was all in the styling: cinch a checked blazer with a wide belt or hint at a pop of color with a "half in half out" belt over blazer combination.
